Oudtshoorn Golf Club: A Tradition of Excellence

Our Journey Through Time
From very humble beginnings to our current beautiful 72 par 18 hole course, the Oudtshoorn Golf Club has a storied past filled with passion and dedication.
1906
Founding of the Club
Late in 1906, a small group of local golf enthusiasts established the Oudtshoorn Golf Club, laying the foundation for a community-centered sporting venue.
1922
Basic 9-Hole Course
A basic 9-hole course is designed and built, not too far from the location of our current course. This early layout was very modest, but served the local golfing community for several decades.
1957
Current 18-Hole Course
In 1957, the club relocated to its current site, where a new course was built and later redesigned by Bob Grimsdell, creating the full 18-hole layout that exists today.

Our Course
The current Oudtshoorn Golf Club course, redesigned by Bob Grimsdell, is an 18-hole parkland layout playing to a par of 72. It stretches over 6,210 meters from the men’s tees and 5,190 meters from the women’s tees.
The course features tree-lined fairways, Kikuyu grass on the fairways, and Cynodon/Bayview grass on the greens, providing excellent playing conditions year-round. Known for its strategic design and natural beauty, the course offers a memorable challenge with a blend of par 3s, 4s, and 5s, including the notable “Horseshoe” trio of holes that test accuracy and course management.
